After weeks of uncertainty owing to increased tensions between India and Pakistan, the dates and venues for the Asia Cup have been announced. The competition is set to start on September 9, with India taking on Pakistan in the first match of the tournament in Dubai. The arch-rivals are scheduled to meet three times in the tournament – once in the group stages, and once in the Super 4 round and the final if both teams make it that far.
The Indian squad for the tournament is likely to include Suryakumar Yadav (c), Shubman Gill (vc), Abhishek Sharma, Ravi Bishnoi, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Dhruv Jurel, Axar Patel and Washington Sundar. The defending champions will look to build on their win in the previous edition of the tournament, which was also a T20 event.
